Mohammed Imad Ali
Imad supports Marifa in its initiative to bring affordable, interesting and engaging education on Islamic banking and finance to the online global community using only the most innovative learning techniques in the process. The experience which Imad has gained working with Shariah support and advisory departments of Citi Islamic and HSBC Amanah helps him appreciate the nuances of Islamic finance education. His work stints in the Islamic finance team at Dentons in Dubai and with the legal department of an Islamic leasing company in Kuwait gives him advantage to appreciate Islamic finance legal documentation. Imad obtained his Master’s degree in Comparative Laws from Islamic University Malaysia specializing in Islamic banking jurisprudence. He has read law and is admitted as a lawyer in India
Shahid has spent more than a decade designing, developing and delivering engaging learning solutions. Shahid has worked with international creative brands and has spent his time in USA, UK and Malaysia. Shahid ensures we are developing practical and engaging ways to address learning challenges. He sets the technical vision and strategy at Marifa and works closely with the technical team to help, define and implement strategy around the technical aspects of learning delivery. Shahid strongly believes that creativity lies in ones appreciation of the nature’s creation in terms of usage of colors, symmetry and presentation and emulate the same in one’s creative work. He is also an avid painter and photographer. He is a graduate of one of the best fine arts schools in India.
Ikram plays a major role in reviewing and editing the English and Urdu training content at Marifa. Ikram currently heads the Shariah coordination team at Abu Dhabi’s Al Hilal Bank. He has over a decade of experience in business development, providing Islamic banking training, Shariah audit and the structuring of Islamic banking products. He had previously worked as Shariah Auditor at Dubai Islamic Bank. His wide-ranging expertise includes the review of Shariah structures and Islamic finance transaction documentation related to retail, corporate and investment banking. Ikram is proficient in the provision of Shariah alternatives to practical banking issues. He has an MBA in Banking & Finance from Preston University, USA (Ajman - UAE Campus), and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Jamia Millia Islamiah, New Delhi. He is a Hafiz, and a holder of the Fadheelat degree, as well as Al Aalamiyah from Jamiatul Falah, India.
Syis Bin Yahya
Syis has expertise in translating various types of documents and books from and to several languages such as Arabic, English and Malay/Indonesian. He at Marifa covers Malaysia and Indonesia and translates the teaching content in Malay. Syis completed his bachelor’s degree in Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Heritage and holds an MBA in Islamic Banking and Finance and also a masters in Islamic studies from International Islamic University Malaysia
Sabahuddin is responsible for the Arabic research content at Marifa. He holds a master’s degree specializing in Islamic banking and finance from the International Islamic University Malaysia. He has graduated from Al-Azhar University, with a specialization in Arabic and Islamic studies. He has also completed Alimiath and Fazilath at one of the most prestigious Islamic institutions in India – Darul-Uloom Nadwat-ul-Ulama, Lucknow
S. A. Aziz
Aziz loves reading, researching and teaching Shariah. He at Marifa assists in the urdu research content. He graduated with a degree in Islamic Studies from Daarul Uloom Nadwatul Ulemaa, Lucknow India, followed by a degree on the same subject from Osmania University in Hyderabad, where he also he received a gold medal from the Department of Islamic Studies as an outstanding achiever. He is the current Head Imam at Masjid Ramazaan Sharjah, and delivers Friday sermons in English at one of Dubai‘s most prominent mosques. His PhD thesis on Islamic Banking and Finance is close to completion.
